Chris' Journey
Christopher Wyche, a Boston native, has spent most of his adult life in Greater Columbus. He earned a B.A. in Economics Management from Ohio Wesleyan University and began his career with United Ways of New England, organizing national fundraising campaigns and conducting donor analysis for mergers.
During the Great Recession, Chris returned to Columbus, joining City Year as Development Manager and later expanding into government affairs, marketing, HR, and media relations. He helped launch the Diplomas Now School Turnaround Model, a collaboration improving school support systems.
In 2014, Chris became AT&T Ohio’s Director of External Affairs, building relationships with local leaders and managing philanthropic initiatives. He has led multimillion-dollar partnerships, workforce development programs, and efforts to close the digital divide.

Chris grew up in Boston’s Mattapan neighborhood, where he experienced many of the challenges facing cities today. With the support of his working-class parents and a strong community, he navigated those challenges while his parents also fostered 12 children alongside their own.
Now, Chris lives in Columbus’ Far North Crown District with his wife Julia, their children Lulu and Benjamin, and their dog Bo. His eldest daughter, Mariah, lives in Kansas with her mother and stepfather.
